New GM vehicle speed sensor (VSS) for 700R4 and 4L60 transmissions. This installs in the transmission and provides the ECM with the vehicle speed. It also allows you to hook up a cable driven speedometer. This makes it ideal for TPI and LT1 retrofits onto older vehicles. Without a VSS signal, the ECM cannot control lockup for the torque converter, EGR will be nonfunctional, timing will not be pulled back in the event of detonation, the ECM's learning ability won't be functional, and you may experience idle fluctuations when coming to a stop.

This sensor will provide a 4000 pulse per mile (ppm) signal to the ECM, and run your cable driven speedometer. This is the signal needed for 90-92 TPI and 92-93 LT1 setups. There are two versions of the sensor. One for 34-39 tooth driven gears, and one for 40-45 tooth driven gears. Unfortunately, the 40-45 tooth unit is no longer available. We only have the 34-39 tooth units.
